Fields of application of electrolytic polishing and deburring

Many metals and alloys are suitable for electrolytic polishing, the most common fields of application being the processing of stainless steel (chromium-nickel and chromium steel), non-ferrous metals, steel (deburring), pure and ultra-pure aluminium.

Lead, tin, zinc, silver, titanium and grey cast iron are not suitable for electropolishing.

Electropolishing units and the corresponding electrolytes have proven suitable for the following parts:

Stainless steel

Surgical instruments, tweezers, cannulas, bone nails, parts of kitchen machines such as knives, graters, lemon squeezers, sieves and inserts for dish washers, sink covers, tubs and containers for commercial kitchens, accessories for the chemical industry, milk and wine cooler plates, pumps and armature parts, wire-mesh baskets for the most different kinds of application, cutlery and tableware, perforated sheet metal, washing machine drums, screen baskets and sorting inserts, filter housings, evaporators, cooling coils and many others.

Deburring of steel parts

Parts of office machinery, tools, spiral drills, gearbox parts, parts for textile machinery and many mechanical precision parts.

Non-ferrous metals

Parts of antennas, lighting fixtures, discharge pipes, towel holders, powder boxes, cigarette cases, meal heaters, clasp mechanisms, badges, buckles, furniture fittings, thermometer tubes, room decoration, clock cases, watch bracelets, tea glass holders, tea trolley parts, trays, parts of cutlery, brush ferrules, metal tubes, clock frames, switching springs, ornamental parts, jewellery, cuff-links, bracelets, chains, pendants, brooches, signboards, lettering etc.

Aluminium

Parts of jewellery, aluminium trim strips, handles and fittings, signboards, in each case before anodising.
